Student Officers

Band officers are selected with the greatest of care by the band director and the members of the bands. Officers do everything they can to make the Stone Band Program outstanding. They are elected annually at the beginning of the school year by secret ballot.

• President:
• Represents the band director in his absence.
• Conducts all meetings of the officers and of the organization.
• Helps plan special events of the band.
• Appoints special work committees when needed (i.e. Publicity, Staging, Band Trips).
• Aids in promoting band concerts, fund-raising activities and special appearances.
• Consults frequently with the band director on all important matters.
• Vice President:
• Represents the President in his/her absence.
• Assists the President in all of his/her responsibilities.
• Secretary:
• Takes accurate notes at all meetings and keeps minutes for future reference.
• Takes attendance at all rehearsals.
• Writes all correspondence regarding band activities (i.e. Publicity lists, duplicated letters, thank you notes, or written work).
• Aids the President and band director in any projects involving written correspondence.
• Treasurer:
• Creates vouchers to pay all bills, makes all deposits, and keeps accurate records of the Band Fund Account.
• Reports on financial matters to the band and band director.
• Takes charge of financial matters in all band fund-raising activities.
• Librarians:
• Supervise the band library and all music.
• Keep the library orderly.
• Aid band members in locating parts.
• Pass out new music; collect and file music.
• Manager (Concert Band II only):
• Performs all of the officer duties and reports to the President of the Symphonic Band.

Any individuals failing to fulfill the above responsibilities will be dismissed by the Band Director and another individual will be appointed.
